About Me!

Adam Cox began his journey into the arts during a middle school production of Shrek: The Musical Junior. Through that process he discovered his love of performance, collaboration, and working hard to polish what will go up in front of an audience. Although the child playing Shrek was flat and Fiona peed her pants on stage, Adam’s take on Papa Bear was “groundbreaking”.  Adam continued delving into theatre throughout the rest of middle school and continuing into high school.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit little Adam’s passion, live theatre was gutted like a fish in front of him. Because of this, he found ways to cope through his high school’s digital sketch show. There he discovered a new love, writing. He was able to collaborate on a whole new level. Writing, filming, producing, and acting in his own work widened Adam’s scope when he started looking at higher education.

Because of his high grades and really good interviewing skills, Adam was admitted into DePaul University’s BFA Comedy Arts program. There, he spent time producing a lot of live comedy in the city of Chicago and developing his writing and performing abilities further. Multiple shows he created while being a student were picked up by outside theatres and are still worked on by him today.

Now that he’s (almost) graduated, he performs throughout the city with his sketch group, I Can Keep Going, and his improv team, Dog Eats God. While working on those he’s a working actor that auditions for productions regularly. Most recently, he’s preparing for Messfest, the comedy festival, where he’s performing in two sketch shows, acting as head writer in a process, directing standup, and performing in a play.
